X XX SOLD X X X Steel hilt early hanger from the era of the American Revolutionary war. Ref 9514.
A scarce steel hilted early hanger or short sword from the era of the American Revolutionary war. Circa 1775-1783. Iron knuckle-bow. The single edged blade with one narrow fuller, blade length approx 23 inches. Very nice plain bone grip with its cross-hatching now well worn. Blade with some minor wear and rusting, otherwise in good overall condition. The grip is a good colour with a nice period patina to the metal. A very good authentic piece dating from the time of the U.S. Revolutionary war era or earlier. Overall length approx 28 inches. Ref 9514.
