A completely original British Tower Brown Bess flintlock musket as carried during the Napoleonic wars circa 1803-1815. Standard 39 inch steel barrel with a fixed iron foresight. The top of the barrel struck with two London proof marks. Its lock plate is marked with a crown and the letters GR (King George 111) together with ‘TOWER’ across the tail of lock. This denotes that it was made at the TOWER of LONDON ARMOURY. It has standard British military brass fittings and the lock is fitted with a flint. Walnut full stock with original iron ramrod, 3 brass ramrod pipes, 2 sling swivels and ordnance pattern brass furniture. It is 55 inches overall length with a 39 inch barrel. These famous flintlock muskets were used in many wars and conflicts throughout history, including the American Revolutionary War of independence & The Napoleonic Wars as well as many others. Good overall condition with a nice patina to the wood. Ref .
