A fine pair of single barrelled percussion travelling pistols made by Weatherhead & Co of Derby. Weatherhead & Co had a workshop at Iron gate, Derby Circa 1821-26. Both pistols in extremely good condition with much original blued finish. Engraved lock plates marked "Weatherhead & Co". The 5 inch barrels engraved on top Derby. Engraved and blued trigger guards, horn tipped wooden ramrods, finely chequered walnut grips set with with escutcheons. The set contained in a green baize lined mahogany case containing some accessories including a steel bullet mold, and a bag shaped copper powder flask. An extremely fine pair of percussion pistols retaining much original finish. The pistols 10 inches long. Case size 12.5 X 9 inches. The case manufactured slightly later than the pistols. Ref 3176.
