A scarce .41 calibre Rim-fire American Colt's patent No.2 derringer pistol. Overall length approx 5.5 inches. This is an obsolete .41 calibre rim-fire pistol and dates from around 1870-1880. The iron frame with scroll engraved side-plates and the barrel stamped with the words + Colt's Pt. F. A. Mfg. Co. Hartford. Ct. USA. No 2 +. Matching serial numbers 5738 marked on the butt and under barrel. Working order and in reasonably good untouched condition, some signs of use, very strong main-spring. Ref 4268.
