A Belgian 6 shot double action 10 mm antique pin-fire revolver. Circa 1861-1865. Decorative engraving to the frame and cylinder. Finely chequered grips, swing up side loading gate. Liege proof marks on cylinder. Ejector rod fixed to one side of the frame. Action in good working condition. Some blemishes to the cylinder and frame otherwise in good condition. This type of double-action pin-fire revolver is known to have been carried by soldiers of the Confederacy during the U.S. Civil War 1861-1865. These pistols were possibly brought by Captain Caleb Huse who had authority by the confederate government to buy guns in Europe and forward them to the confederacy for use during the Civil War. Ref 3171.
