A very nice pair of English percussion pocket pistols with screw-off barrels, of approx .50 calibre manufactured by the gunsmith "HIGHAM" of Warrington. (George Higham of Warrington Lancashire England was a gunsmith between 1807-1869). These pistols were probably made in the period 1830-1840. One screw head is very slightly damaged (see photos) otherwise hardly any signs of wear or use. The chequered butts with finely engraved silver butt-caps and each inlaid with a silver diamond shaped escutcheon engraved with a female figure (possibly a family crest - please see photo).
The percussion hammers of dolphin design. Folding triggers and sliding top safeties. These percussion pocket pistols are now getting very hard to find in good condition. The actions are both in good condition and working order. Overall length approx 6 inches. Ref 2396.
These are obsolete antique pistols and are sold as collectors items only.
