X X X ON HOLD X X X American Plains long-rifle or Kentucky long rifle, C. 1775-1810. Ref 9715.

A very rare flintlock fully stocked American Plains long-rifle or Kentucky long rifle with very early style drooping butt, circa 1775-1810.  The rifle fitted with a British made lock. The lock with minor decoration to the lock-plate and engraved "LONDON WARRANTED".  Calibre approx .50. Complete with its original correct wooden ramrod. Three brass ramrod pipes mounted to the underside of stock. The barrel inset on top with a buck-horn rear sight and blade metal foresight, the wooden stock fitted with three barrel wedges. Scrolling brass trigger guard. The stock fitted with an early crescent shaped brass butt-plate. This rifle is in good overall condition. The action works fine. A very scarce item, showing very little sign of wear or use. Overall length approx 55 inches. Barrel length 39 inches.

Old repair to toe of wooden butt-stock. Some dings and bruises, otherwise in good condition. Ref 9715.
