An English 19th Century Percussion travelling pistol engraved on the lock-plate with the maker's name "Wadsworth". The chequered walnut butt fitted to the bottom with a nickel-silver hinged butt-trap and a nickel silver escutcheon. Matching nickel-silver trigger guard and ramrod pipe. Very heavy barrel, length 4 inches. Action in working order. Overall length approx 8 inches. Circa 1830-1840. Good overall condition. This is a nice example of the type of percussion pistol carried for personal protection during the mid 19th century. Ref 9688.
