A scarce American 7 shot Moores Patent .32 cal Rimfire revolver made during the era of the U.S. Civil War Circa 1861-1863. Octagonal 4 inch barrel engraved on top with "J.Moore Patent, Sept 16th 1860". Nicely engraved bronze frame. Action in good condition, swing out cylinder. Overall length 9 inches approx. Some genuine signs of use, otherwise in good condition. Probably made during the first year of production. There were only a few thousand of these Moore's revolvers ever manufactured. Quite a few of these are known to have been privately purchased by Union officers and carried during the American Civil war. Ref 6776.
