X X X SOLD X X X Napoleonic period French Cuirassier's sword, the blade dated 1814. Complete
Napoleonic period Cuirassier's sword. A fabulous cavalry sword of the Napoleonic period, made for the tall and fierce Cuirassiers of Napoléon's Grand Armee. This pattern French sword was carried during the battle of Waterloo in June 1815. Complete in its original steel scabbard with two hanging rings. The hilt stamped "Versailles" The blade with various military markings and dated on the back edge "Klingenthal Janvier 1814". A highly desirable sword when carrying this date showing that it was manufactured the year before the famous battle of Waterloo. Ref 7694.
