X X X SOLD X X X A good quality English Percussion travelling pistol by Higham of Warrington.
A scarce good quality English 19th Century Percussion travelling pistol made by Higham of Warrington and engraved on the lockplate with his name. (George Higham of Warrington, Lancashire England was a gunsmith between 1807-1869).
This pistol would date from around 1830-1845. Heavy octagonal barrel of large bore (aprox .60 cal) length 6 inches. The finely chequered walnut butt fitted with an iron trigger guard and ramrod pipe. Good working order. The barrel fitted with a rear sight. Overall length approx 11 inches. A small piece of wood missing at the tail of the lockplate, otherwise in good condition. Circa 1830-1845. Ref 8613.
