A pair of very rare antique flintlock duelling pistols by MANTON of London. The pistols are full-stocked and engraved on each barrel "MANTON LONDON". The barrels both numbered underneath with Manton's own serial no.1643. The locks signed "MANTON". Both pistols in good condition, showing little sign of use. The touch holes and pans are gold lined. The silver escutcheons engraved with the initials GG. One cock possibly replaced during its working life, otherwise in good condition and working order. This is the type of pistol that would have been used for duelling during the late 18th - early 19th century. Very good condition, cased with some accessories. A rare oportunity to buy a pair of pistols by this world famous maker. Ref 6542.
