X X X SOLD X X X English Flintlock Boxlock pistol by ANDERTONS & AUSTER, Good condition. Ref 8934.
A good quality English Flintlock Box-lock pistol Circa 1800 with folding trigger. The side-plates engraved "London" to one side and "ANDERTONS & AUSTER" to the other. Flat sided walnut butt. Screw-off steel barrel with lug to the underside, sliding top safety, two London proof marks to the underside of the frame. Good working order and good overall condition. Action in working order. Overall length 6 inches. Very good condition. A scarce maker. This is the type of pistol that would have been carried in a pocket or a saddle bag during the late 18th century by an English gentleman, traveller, or officer as a personal protection weapon. Ref 8934.
