An interesting Jambya dagger with silver hilt and silver covered scabbard. It has a very good double-edged curved blade, blade is 2 inches wide at the forte & length 7 inches. Very well worked silver grip with very wide ears and finely chased silver mounts. silver top is 5 inches wide. Wooden leather covered scabbard with silver wire and decorated silver segments. The cloth covering to the back of scabbard is now loose and peeling off. Overall length approx 12 inches. Probably 19th century. Good condition with nice age patina. Ref 2435.
