An interesting American small size antique percussion single shot "Bootleg" pistol circa 1840-1850. Dating from the time of the Californian Gold Rush. Two piece wooden bag shaped grips held on with a single screw. Steel trigger guard. Used condition, a nice honest piece of American Wild West history and exactly the type of tiny single shot pocket pistol carried and easily hidden by Gamblers of the time. Many of these tiny percussion pistols were carried as a back-up weapon during the American Civil War, easily carried inside a jacket pocket, saddlebag or boot. Approx cal .31. Overall length 5.5 inches. Spring very strong, in good well used condition. Ref 3915.
