A very rare possibly identifiable AMERICAN powder horn dated 1775. The body engraved with the motto "LIBERTY and date 1775 with initials W. T. ". A large wooden plug at one end inset with a small hanging ring.
An excellent and completely authentic example of these famous engraved powder horns that were carried by officers, backwoods men and rifle-men during and before the American Revolutionary wars. (1775-1783). Very good condition. A very rare item. Overall length 13 inches. Ref 3791.
