A very scarce large calibre ten shot double action pinfire revolver, Ref 4587.
A very scarce large calibre ten shot double action British prooved pin-fire revolver with a trigger guard. Circa 1865. Round barrel with a fixed ejector rod mounted to the side. The metal a dark brown finish. The bag shaped wooden grips made in two pieces with a central screw. Push up loading gate with British proof marks to each cylinder. Calibre is approximately 13 mm. Good overall condition with some signs of use. Action in good working condition. Overall lenght 13 inches. These multi-shot large calibre pin-fire revolvers are known to have been imported by the Southern states and carried by soldiers of the confederacy during the latter part of the US civil war circa 1864-65. They are now very difficult to find. Ref 4587.
