A very rare single shot percussion Deringer made in Philadelphia by the world famous HENRY DERINGER. Circa 1850-1860. The maker's name DERINGER PHILADELa engraved on the lock plate as well as the barrel. This an original percussion Deringer made by the most famous maker of all Deringers, Mr HENRY DERINGER. 2 inch barrel. Approx .41 calibre. A shield shaped nickel silver escutcheon fitted to the rear of grips and matching nickel silver trigger-guard, side-plate and tear shaped butt-cap. Action in excellent working order. Overall length 6 inches. In almost mint condition showing no signs of use or wear. This is without a doubt the best condition example that we have offered for sale in over 50 years. Ref 2743.
