A very rare hand-forged iron horseman's war hammer, probably German, 16-17th Century. Heavy eight sided beaked point with a square hammer on the reverse side. The hammer nose with
re-enforced shaped head. Central socket for a wooden shaft. Some punched decoration to the middle and sides of the war-hammer. Very heavy construction. A superb and very rare early item. Length 11.5 inches, Weight 1.2 kgs. Ref 1653.
