A Superb pair of highly decorative silver mounted percussion pistols converted from flintlock. Circa 1800. Elaborate engraving to both side plates. 2.5 inch screw-off canon barrels fitted underneath with lugs for the barrel keys. The walnut grips are inlaid with silver wire scrolling. Embossed silver butt-caps. The pistols are both stamped with London proof marks and the initials WH to the under side of each breech. Actions both in good working order. In good overall condition. Starting life as flintlocks, these fine pistols have been converted to percussion sometime during their working life. Calibre approx .45 cal. Overall length 8 inches. A very good example of a pair of English Silver mounted Queen Anne style Pistols. Ref 3228.
