A superb Cased Pair of Very High Quality Silver Inlaid Presentation Flintlock Pistols. Manufactured by Smith of London Circa 1800 (Probably Samuel Smith who had a workshop in Leicester Square, London). The wooden case is inlaid with brass decoration to the lid and is considerably longer than most cases made during the period for pairs of pistols, to accommodate these unusually long pistols. The barrels are 12 inches in length. The pistols are 19 inches overall. The mounts of very high quality gilt brass with deeply chizzelled decoration. The walnut stocks are inlaid overall with silver scroll work and flowers. Finely blued lock-plates engraved with the makers name "SMITH" and fine gold inlay. Both actions are very crisp and in full working condition. Complete with copper 3 way powder flask. Extremely fine condition showing very little signs of use. A superb pair of Napoleonic period flintlock pistols almost certainly made for presentation purposes. Ref 8730.
