A silver inlaid Balkan Flintlock pistol Circa 1800. Heavy silver decoration. Ref 9853.
A good silver inlaid Balkan Flintlock pistol Circa 1800. The 10 inch octagonal barrel is covered in silver inlaid decoration. The lock plate is also engraved and inlaid. Silver butt cap, trigger guard and side-plate all with heavy silver decoration. Decoratively engraved trigger guard and silver inlaid escutcheon fitted to the rear of grip. The stock with heavy chased decoration to the wood. The end of the wood stock under the barrel has an old crack. Action works but is stiff. Showing signs of use, a very decorative pistol. Some old cracks and restoration but basically a very sound and attractive pistol. Overall length 15 inches. Ref 9853.
