A scarce double Barrelled Tap Action Flintlock Pistol, made by Henry Richards of London, circa 1808-1809. Both side plates engraved with the maker's name "H. RICHARDS" on one side and "STRAND LONDON" on the other side. Plain flat sided walnut grips, both barrels screw off. Floral decoration engraved on the trigger guard. the breech stamped with two proof marks. Good condition and in working order. Overall length 6.5 inches. A nice example of the type of double barrelled pistol carried for personal protection at the end of the 18th century and a very scarce maker. Ref 8878.
