A scarce .60 cal British percussion pistol by Burnand, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Circa 1843. The decorative lock plate engraved with the makers name Burnand. Richard Burnand had a workshop 111 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle on Tyne from 1843-1890. The sighted 6 inch octagonal nicely browned barrel engraved Newcastle on Tyne. An octagonal shaped escutcheon fitted to the rear of grip and fine chequering to the grip. Decorative trigger guard. Captive iron swivel rammer. Dolphin hammer. Action in good working order. Overall length 11 inches. Some very minor dings and scratches otherwise in very good overall condition. Ref 4474.
