Description
FOR SALE - A rare under hammer approx .60 calibre percussion Walking stick gun. Circa 1830. This firing system is known as a Days Patent ignition, this system was patented in 1823 by JOHN DAY. The barrel painted to imitate a tree branch for camouflage. Overall length 36 inches. The hand grip/pommel made from turned wood. Barrel stamped with two Birmingham proof marks. In relatively good but well used condition showing some signs of age and use. The percussion nipple is damaged from use but with a very crisp trigger action. A rare collectors item. Ref 1416.
