A rare Napoleonic era French Military Flintlock Officer's Pistol manufactured at the French Military arsenal of VERSAILLES and dating from the time of the Napoleonic Wars, engraved on top MLE AN. 13 (model year 1813). Rounded brass military skull-crusher butt-cap, matching brass military style trigger-guard, fore-end band and side-plate. Complete with its steel ramrod. The lock engraved "Manuf. De Versailles". This type of heavy calibre flintlock pistol were carried by French cavalry officers during the era of the Napoleonic campaigns of the late 18th-early 19th century. Overall length 14.5 inches. Some minor wear and dings to the wood, otherwise in good condition and working order. This is one of the nicest of its type that we have ever offered for sale.
