A rare Napoleonic era British all brass Flintlock Blunderbuss Officer's pistol. Circa 1799-1811. The 7 inch brass barrel at the muzzle swelling out to a size of almost 1 inch. Stand of arms engraved to the side plate and the makers name Cash on the other side plate. Probably James Cash who had a workshop on Loveday Street, Birmingham (1799-1811) and Coleshill Street, Birmingham (1805-1811). The barrel engraved London and proof British marks stamped under the barrel. Wooden ramrod. Flat sided wooden grip with an oval silver escutcheon. Action in good working order. Some slight staining to the grip and minor signs of wear and use during it's working life, otherwise in good overall condition. A good example of the type of weapon carried by a gentleman or naval officer during the period of the Napoleonic wars. Overall length approx 13 inches. Ref 3786.
