A rare head from a 19th Century Indian all steel Ankus or Elephant Goad. Fluted design to the tapered central shaft. Two bands of decoration around the socket. Overall length 8 inches. The condition is excellent and the metal has a good old look. The hook and blade also with engraved leaf decoration. This is a very unusual collectors item. Tip slightly mis-shapen, otherwise condition is good.
