A rare and extremely interesting very tiny percussion single shot bar hammer American "Bootleg" pistol of very small size, circa 1840-1850. Dating from the time of the Californian Gold Rush. Two piece bag shaped wooden grips held on with a single screw. The barrel engraved on top with "NEW YORK". Steel trigger guard. Used condition, a nice honest piece dating from the time of the American Wild West and exactly the type of tiny single shot pocket pistol carried and easily hidden by travellers & gamblers of the time. Approx cal .31. Overall length 6 inches. Ref 2078.
