A rare and very high quality English 19th Century Diminutive percussion pistol made by the gun-makers Osborne & Jackson and engraved on the nickle-silver side-plate with their name. Osborne & Jackson had a workshop at 49 Ellis Street, Birmingham, circa 1838-1845. The finely chequered walnut butt fitted with an oval silver escutcheon and an having a carved wooden swollen butt-cap. Turn-off barrel length approx 1.5 inches. Good working order. The nickel-silver frame with very fine scroll engraved decoration on both sides. Action crisp. Overall length approx 4.5 inches. Circa 1850-1860. This is an outstanding example of an extremely small and very high quality pistol. Pistols of this small size and quality are quite rare. Ref 3952.
