Complete with its original brass scabbard with brass hanging stud in the shape of a dolphin. Circa 1860. A good squared section checkered wooden hilt. Short double brass cross-guard. The straight double edged blade has possibly been fashioned from a cut-down sword blade and is approx 4 inches in length. Overall length in scabbard 9 inches. The dirk and scabbard all in very good condition. A very interesting naval dirk unusual having the original owners name. The engraving could be later. Ref 4005.
