A rare American Civil War era tip-up .32 rim-fire, Smith & Wesson Model No2, 6 shot revolver. This a factory engraved pistol made by the world famous Smith & Wesson of Springfield Mass circa 1861-1874. The 5 inch barrel marked on top with the name "SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS". Rare mother-of-pearl grips. Overall length 10 inches. The model number 2 was a popular personal sidearm with many military officers and enlisted men during the American Civil War. Action in working order. In relatively good condition showing some minor signs of use. A very rare item being factory engraved. Ref 4258.
