A rare and exceptional authentic 17th/18th century Indian Vijayanagara hooded Katar, the two bar hilt fitted with a large curved hand-guard terminating with a monster head, (please see photos). The Katar is one of the oldest and most characteristic of the Indian knife weapons. Extra long blade with multi-fullers. The blade length approx 15 inches. No blade damage. Overall length 21 inches. In good authentic worn condition. Hilt and blade are very solid.  17th/18th century. Ref 2774.
