A large Flintlock Pistol made by the world famous gunsmith Henry Nock. Dating from around the time of the Napoleonic Wars. Circa 1795-1815. The lock-plate engraved H. Nock. Henry Nock worked c.1741–1804, was a British inventor and engineer of the Napoleonic period, well known as an excellent gunsmith. As well as supplying the military and civilian markets, Nock made exquisite pieces for the aristocracy and Royalty and was an appointed gun maker to the King. The very heavy octagonal 8.5 inch barrel engraved on top LONDON. Captive swivel ramrod. Finely chequered grips with an oval escutcheon. Overall length 13.5 inches. Action in good crisp working order. An old repair to the stock just in front of lock-plate (please see photo) some signs of wear and use, otherwise in good condition and in working order. Calibre approx .69 cal. Ref 2759.
