A large bore semi-military style Flintlock Pistol made by the world famous gunsmith Henry Nock. The calibre approximately .65 cal. Dating from around the time of the Napoleonic Wars. Circa 1795-1815. The lock-plate engraved H Nock. Henry Nock (1741–1804) was a British inventor and engineer of the Napoleonic period, well known as a prolific gunsmith. As well as supplying the military and civilian markets, Henry Nock made exquisite pieces for the aristocracy and Royalty and was appointed gun maker to the king. The nine inch barrel engraved LONDON on top. Brass trigger-guard, side-plate and ramrod pipes. Complete with its original wooden ramrod. Overall length 14.5 inches. Action in good crisp working order with a strong spring. In good well used condition showing some sign of wear and light pitting. Ref 1240.
