A good quality and very attractive composite Swept-Hilt rapier. The guard, cross guard, and pommel all with chain-link decoration and with the appearance of being circa 1650. The blade is probably Victorian mid-19th century. Wire bound grip also appears to be original. The steel cross guard approx 9.5 inches long. The double-edged blade 40 inches in length is struck at the forte with an armourers mark of a medieval cross. Overall length 47 inches. Very good condition. This rapier has the look of being authentic 17th century. Ref 3540.
