A good single shot .52 cal British percussion pistol by COOK of BATH, SOMERSET, ENGLAND. Circa 1830-1850. The lock plate engraved COOK BATH. (Probably John Cook who had a workshop in Bath at Kingsmead Street and at Walcot street circa 1830-1866.) Sighted 6 inch octagonal nicely browned barrel. An oval shaped escutcheon fitted to the rear of grip and fine chequering to the grip. Brass tipped wooden ramrod. Dolphin hammer. Traditionally engraved iron trigger guard. Action in good working order. Overall length 10 inches. Some minor dings and scratches otherwise in very good condition. Ref 3706.
