A good quality English Flintlock Boxlock pistol with a screw-off barrel. Circa 1807-1821. The side-plate engraved DUNDERDALE MABSON & LABRON, stand of arms engraved on the other side. Dunderdale, Mabson & Labron had a work shop at 25 Russell Street, Birmingham (1807-1821). Flat sided walnut butt. Screw-off 1.5 inch steel barrel. British proof marks to the underside of the breech. This is the type of small pistol that would have been carried in a pocket or a saddle bag during the 18-19th century by a gentleman, traveller, or officer as a personal protection weapon. In good working order and condition. Overall length 6.5 inches. Ref 2196.
