A good quality English Flintlock Box-lock pistol Circa 1800. Ref 9213.
A good quality English Flintlock Boxlock pistol Circa 1800 with a screw-off barrel & folding trigger. The sideplate engraved W. PALMER. Flat sided walnut butt. Screw-off steel barrel with lug to the underside, sliding top safety, two London proof marks to the underside of the frame. Good overall condition. Action in working order. Overall length 6 inches. Very good condition. A very scarce maker. We have only ever seen one other flintlock pistol by this maker. This is the type of pistol that would have been carried in a pocket or a saddle bag during the late 18th century by an English gentleman, traveller, or officer as a personal protection weapon. Ref 9213.
