A good officer's flintlock military pistol dating from the Napoleonic era. Dated 1812. This type of military flintlock belt pistol would have been carried by a military officer during the era of the Napoleonic wars. (Circa 1803-1815). Brass butt-cap, trigger-guard, side-plate and fore-end cap. The 8 inch steel barrel engraved on top with the date 1812. Original iron ramrod. Overall length 14 inches. Plain lock fitted with a brass pan, the action is in good working condition. This is a standard military flintlock pistol that would have been carried during the time of the Napoleonic wars. The pistol with some very minor marks and dings, otherwise showing very little sign of use, generally in good condition overall. Ref 2728.
