An English flintlock pocket pistol by J. G. Jones. Circa 1800. The side plate engraved with the makers name J. G. Jones, the other side plate engraved London. Flat sided shaped walnut butt with a a silver shield shape escutcheon fitted to the rear, engraved with the original owners initials. British proof mark stamped to the under side of breech. Drop down trigger. Screw off 2 inch barrel. Sliding top safety. Overall length 6.5. inches. In good working order. The condition showing some signs of use and wear, otherwise in good condition. This is the type of flintlock pistol that would have been carried for personal protection during the late 18th, early 19th century. Ref 1808.
