A good English single barrel Percussion pocket pistol, by W. MURDOCH WHITEHAVEN. Ref 9565.
A good English single barrelled Percussion pocket pistol with bag shaped grips, manufactured by W. MURDOCH and engraved with the makers name on the side plate. The frame of nickle silver, with an octagonal 2" screw-off barrel. Made around 1845- 1850. Stamped wit British proof marks to the frame and barrel. The frame fitted with a sliding top safety. Some very minor scratches, otherwise the condition is very good. William Murdoch is listed as a gun-maker working from 12 Roper Street, Whitehaven, Cumbria, circa 1847-1855. Overall length approx 6 inches. Ref 9565.
