A good flintlock pocket pistol by Styan of Manchester. Side plates engraved with the makers name Styan on one side and Manchester on the other side. Styan had a workshop at Broome Street, Manchester circa 1803-1811. Flat sided bag shaped walnut butt. Drop down folding trigger guard. Stamped underneath the breech with British proof marks. Overall length 6 inches. Action in good working order. In good condition showing some signs of wear and use. This is the type of flintlock pistol that would have been carried for personal protection during the late 18th- early 19th century. Ref 2139.
