A fine WILLIAM IV British Military Flintlock Pistol. Circa 1830-1837. Lock marked; "CROWN" over 'WR' (King William IV of England) and a small crown over a broad arrow (Government Ownership mark). "B O" (Board of Ordnance) over the "Broad Arrow" stamped into the stock just above the tail of the lock plate. The 9 inch round steel barrel fitted with a steel swivel ramrod and marked with London proof marks. Brass trigger guard, skull crusher butt cap, ramrod pipe, fore end pipe and matching military side-plate. This is a Standard military pattern flintlock Pistol that would have been carried by a British officer during the mid 19th century. Length approx 15 inches. A small chip just above the trigger guard and some light pitting at the end of the barrel, otherwise in very good condition. Action in good working order. Ref 4028.
