A fine pair of large bore iron barrelled flintlock holster pistols engraved on the lock-plates "E & W BOND" Circa 1820-1830. Standard semi-military style brass trigger guards, butt-caps and ramrod pipes. The barrels engraved "LONDON". Barrels measure 9 inches in length. British proof marks stamped on each breech forward of the barrel tang. Actions in working order. Overall length approximately 15 inches. These are excellent examples of privately made military style Flintlock pistols of the type carried by military officers and ships captains during the late 18th century. Calibre approx .65. Complete with their correct horn tipped wooden ramrods. Both actions in good working order. Some very minor dings and scratches, otherwise a very good pair of officer's flintlock pistols in good condition. Edward & William Bond had a workshop in Cornhill London and are known to have made similar weapons for the East India Company. Ref 9947.
