A fine pair of English high quality .50 cal percussion pocket pistols by Henderson of Aberdeen. Circa 1830-1840. The 3 inch octagonal screw-off barrels engraved with the makers name Henderson Aberdeen. William Henderson had a workshop on King Street Aberdeen (C.1823-1858). British proof marks stamped to the underside of each barrel as well as on both breeches. Drop down triggers. Flat sided walnut butts with oval silver escutcheons. The percussion hammers of dolphin design. The actions are both in very good working order. In good condition, a nice example of a pair of percussion pistols carried during the mid-19th century for personal protection. Overall length approx 8 inches. Ref 3215.
