A fine Napoleonic era British Military Flintlock officers Pistol. Circa 1780-1820. The lock plate engraved by the maker THOMAS. (Possibly Henry Thomas who had a workshop at Colmore Row, Birmingham during the Napoleonic era circa 1783-1811). Standard brass military side plate, skull crusher butt cap, trigger guard and ram-rod pipe. The standard 9 inch round barrel stamped with London proof marks. Iron fitted under the barrel. Good crisp action with a strong spring. Some dark staining to the metal (would benefit from a clean), otherwise in very good condition. Calibre approx .65 cal. Overall length 16 inches. Small section of wood missing immediately in front of the lock-plate (please see photos). An excellent example of a British military flintlock pistol that would have been carried by an officer during the Napoleonic wars. Ref 3649.
