A fine high quality single barrel Flintlock pistol made by THOMAS PERKINS of SALISBURY, WILTSHIRE. Made during the NAPOLEONIC ERA. Circa 1797-1810. The 8.5 inch octagonal barrel of very large calibre ( approx .69 cal and fixed with two cross-bolts, a gold inlaid band at the breech and a silver escutcheon fitted to the butt. Thomas Perkins had various workshops in Wiltshire circa 1797-1810. The lock-plate stamped with the makers name. Finely chequered grip. Wooden ram-rod. Engraved trigger guard. In good overall condition. Length 14 inches. A fine honest authentic British Flintlock pistol by a provincial maker. Ref 3564.
