A fine British single barrelled flintlock pistol dating from just before the time of the Napoleonic wars. Circa 1770-1780. Manufactured by T. Ketland & Co. The brass barrel engraved on top London and struck with two London proof marks as well as KETLAND'S own barrel mark of TK and a crown in a square shaped cartouche. The brass lock-plate engraved Ketland & Co. Brass trigger guard terminating with a large brass acorn, brass ramrod pipes. Calibre approx .62. Wooden ramrod. Some silver wire inlay to the wrist of grip. The action is in very good crisp working condition. Overall length 14 inches. One crack in woodwork on the opposite side to the lock-plate (not bad), otherwise in good condition. A very fine pistol. Ref 2563.
