A fine Belgian 6 shot 7mm pin-fire double-action revolver inlaid with gold decoration. Circa 1865. The six shot cylinder inlaid with gold birds decoration and stamped with ELG proof mark. Decoratively engraved frame with further silver & gold inlay. Extractor rod fitted to the side and swing-up loading gate. (the loading gate doesn't close fully). 3.5 inch barrel marked to the side - Lefaucheux. Decorative two piece black wooden grips secured with a central screw. Drop down folding trigger. Overall length 8 inches. Action in good working order with all springs working fine. Some very minor scratches during it's working life otherwise in good condition. A fine example of a Belgian pin-fire revolver inlaid with gold decoration that could have been carried during the latter part of the American Civil war. Ref 3491.
